Tthe Mpumakoloni Bee Association, in partnership with the O.R. Tambo District Municipality, its local municipalities, and relevant sector departments, celebrated World Bee Day under the theme: “Bee Together for People and the Planet – A Partnership that Sustains Us All.”

The key objective of the World Bee Day celebration was to educate, engage, and inspire both rural and urban communities to protect bee habitats and promote sustainable environmental practices, as bees play a vital role in food security.

During the celebration, it was also highlighted that protecting bees should be everyone’s responsibility, as they contribute significantly to agricultural production and environmental sustainability.
